Catholic Wedding Vows

Wedding vows are the promises that bride and groom exchange for the rest of the life. It represents the commitment, sharing and caring of the bride and groom towards each other. Catholic wedding vows is the central part of the traditional or catholic wedding. Catholic wedding is of 16 steps and exchange of wedding vows is the middle 3 steps:

  • The Nupitals
  • The Solemn Promises
  • The Blesssings

And then bride and groom exchange their wedding rings.

In the Nupitals priest ask about the commitment of the love, honor and live long sharing and caring individually from bride and groom. And also ask them that they are going to accept the children of god and according to the Christ’s law raise them. And couple answer these questioned individually.

In the Solemn Promises priest ask couple to join the right hand and take the blessings from God and Church. Then couple exchanges their wedding vows and afterwards priest bless them and recite the blessing.

Then the priest blesses the wedding rings as a replication of the tender love, faith and honor.
